Agricultural Exemptions
Starting July 1, 2015, the sales tax at our location in Scottsville, KS will be 7.5%. Agricultural and other exemptions are still valid.
Question: I farm or ranch. Is my purchase exempt from sales tax?
Answer: Some purchases are exempt from sales tax if you farm or ranch in the state of Kansas. Others are not. We have the exemption form in the office. Please see the list below for exemptions. - If in doubt, please ask!
Question: I live out of state and farm or ranch. Do I have to pay sales tax in Kansas?
Answer: No. You will need to sign an Agriculture Exempt Form. We have these in the office.
Question: I live out of state, but do not farm or ranch. Do I have to pay sales tax in Kansas?
Answer: If you purchase an item in the state of Kansas and come here to pick it up YES-- unless you are resale, integrated production machinery, or one of the other types of exempt. If it is shipped to you, you are not liable for Kansas Sales and Use Tax.
